Bray Wyatt may not have been able to dislodge The Undertaker as the WWE's true face of fear, but he does seem to have taken on some of the Deadman's abilities when it comes to controlling the mass lights in a WWE arena.

In fact, the overwhelming majority of Wyatt feuds seem to start with the lights going out and dear Bray inserting himself into someone else's business.

One such feud began as Dean Ambrose tried to finally settle the score with Seth Rollins, his former Shield brethren, inside Hell in a Cell. Ambrose was closing in on the win, looking to inflict some cinder-block-related revenge on the Architect, when all of a sudden the lights failed.

Mysterious whispers could be heard throughout the arena, the mad ramblings of a man speaking in tongues, before a spooky hologram appeared in the centre of the ring, coming straight out of a lantern. Ambrose was transfixed but then quickly trampled by an onrushing Bray Wyatt.

Sure, this one was pretty hokey, but I think it's gotten short shrift in the time since. Wyatt's character is generally hokey anyway. The hologram stuff was silly, but Wyatt in his 'spider' pose as the lights stayed low was a great visual.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
