Predicted to be one of WWE's biggest players when he made the switch from WCW in 1999, Show received a severe dressing down by WWE's hierarchy when he was removed from TV and sent to developmental to improve his cardiovascular fitness and loose weight. After months in OVW, Show retuned at the 2001 Rumble entering at number 23. He would deliver a plethora of chokeslams before eliminating Test and K-Kwik. Soon after, he would be eliminated by The Rock after The People's Champion gave him a low blow before clotheslining him over the top rope. Angered by his premature exit, Show dragged Rock under the bottom rope and chokeslammed him through the announce table.
