11 Disparaging Things WWE Did To The Guerrero Family

3. Los Guerreros

In 2002, WWE cast Eddie and Chavo as Los Guerreros. Basically, they were two Latino character who represented all the negative stereotypes of hispanic culture. Lie, Cheat and steal was the mantra which they adopted and WWE even filmed vignettes which portrayed the Guerrero family as low-culture scumbags. Now granted, this gimmick got over and the Lie, Cheat, Steal became a popular catchphrase. But that doesn't take away from WWE's original intentions with the booking. This was racial profiling and exploitation of negative stereotypes. It wasn't too dissimilar from the later 'Mexicools' gimmick, and nobody thought that was a positive representation. The only thing that saved 'Los Guerreros' from being WWE wrestlecrap was the sheer talent of Eddie and Chavo. They let the in-ring work do the talking and got their act over.
