11 Fantasy WWE Tag Matches We'd Love To Have Seen

1. The Four Horsemen Vs D-Generation X

Participants: Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and X-Pac Vs Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson, Tully Blanchard and Lex Luger. The Four Horsemen are arguably the most iconic wrestling stable, period. Forming in 1986, their original line-up was Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Ole Anderson and Tully Blanchard but, because their opponents here have five men, they'll also be getting their associate member, Lex Luger, who "joined" the quartet in 1987. The group would often boast about their success - both in the ring and with women - and they caused a major stir with the trouble they caused. Indeed, their name came about when Arn Anderson said "the only time this much havoc had been wreaked by this few a number of people, you need to go all the way back to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!" This particular incarnation competed in both the National Wrestling Alliance and World Championship Wrestling and they won more titles between them than you could possibly mention, with Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard winning the most recognisable belts as a team - the NWA World Tag Team Championship (which would later be known as the WCW World Tag Team Championship). Flair would go on to win two WWE World Championships and ten world titles in WCW, while Luger would go on to win two WCW World Heavyweight Championships. Of course, if any stable caused more havoc than the Four Horsemen, it was undoubtedly D-Generation X. Their very gimmick was that of a gang of rebellious troublemakers who made a point of breaking rules, acted and spoke as they wanted to, insulted people and used crude, irreverent humour and juvenile pranks. They are widely renowned as the most controversial group in WWE history. The stable have had numerous members over the years, but the most prominent are undoubtedly Triple H, Shawn Michaels, X-Pac and the New Age Outlaws (Road Dogg and Billy Gunn). The team won a host of major titles, including holding the WWE Championship while the stable was active (Triple H four times and Shawn Michaels once), as well as as one WWE Tag Team Championship (Michaels and Triple H) and seven World Tag Team Championships (Michaels and Triple H once again and six times for the New Age Outlaws). They also won a number of lesser titles as members of the group, like the Intercontinental, Hardcore and European Championships. Major feuds included the Hart Foundation, the Nation of Domination and the Corporation. This match would be epic. There would be so much cheating and foul play going on that it would just be so much fun - and that's without mentioning the fact that there would be a hell of a lot of varied talent on display. Winners: D-Generation X. They had more true superstars in their ranks, more world titles and two pairs of wrestlers who were brilliant tag teams in their own right (Michaels and Triple H - who were voted the greatest WWE Tag Team Champions of all time in a 2013 WWE viewer poll - and the New Age Outlaws). They were also that little bit more prepared to truly go over the top when it came to shenanigans. So there you have it - eleven fantasy tag team wrestling matches we would love to have seen.
