11 Hot Takes On This Week In Wrestling (Dec 28)

Topical, irrationally irritable ranting about current goings on in professional wrestling.

It's been a weird 2015. WWE pulled WrestleMania out of the fire with plenty of flash and pizazz and sleight-of-hand to disguise the fact that their angles for the big event were weaker than the weakest of weaksauce. This was homeopathic pro wrestling storytelling... the placebo effect, writ large on the grandest stage of them all. At Battleground in July, The Undertaker came back earlier than usual to engage a red hot feud with Brock Lesnar, and then buried the Wyatt Family in an utterly bizarre and anti-climactic angle to celebrate his own 25th anniversary. That ending to TLC has had a lot of people claiming that Roman Reigns is finally over after a year-long rebuilding operation, which is still more or less completely open for debate. Meanwhile, RAW's ratings charts for the year look like an artist's interpretation of a tennis ball bouncing downstairs and next year's WrestleMania season is coming up, with half the people we all assumed would be big players on the card out of the running completely. No Randy Orton, no Seth Rollins, no Daniel Bryan; no 'Stone Cold', no Rock, no Sting... In this article, I'll be going over the last week (and a bit) of wrestling's comings and goings. Why 'a bit'? Well, the holiday season has everything up in the air - blame Christmas. With that in mind, these are my hot takes on the week in wrestling...
