11 Huge AEW Revolution 2022 Predictions You Need To Know
5. Chris Jericho vs. Eddie Kingston
We need to talk about how great Chris Jericho's recent character direction has been.
Slyly turning heel against the impossible-to-root-against Eddie Kingston, The Inner Circle leader has fallen to ego once more. Indulged by fans who still belt Judas out during every single entrance, he has deluded himself into thinking that he is still the biggest star in AEW, while Eddie is a scruffy, unvarnished indie guy incapable of breaking the glass ceiling created by attitudes like Jericho's.
"GFY" and "The Influencer" are lame by design. Jericho is out of touch. Nothing highlights this more than his built-in belief that Kingston not only needs to beat him, but also earn his respect to truly break out. Thus, Eddie swatting Chris' attempted handshake away after beating his ass, flipping him the bird as he walks away, is going to be one of the highlights of the night.
Kingston doesn't need "the rub." "The rub" is a Stamfordian fabrication. The idea that people somehow become bigger stars by sharing space with and shaking the hands of legends is a myth that Jericho has successfully tapped into throughout this storyline, buying into his own bullsh*t.
His face when Eddie banters him off should be a treat.
Winner: Eddie Kingston
