9. Seth Rollins & Braun Strowman Vs. Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode - RAW Tag Team Title Match

A solid tag team match that happened. That's really all that can be said.

The work was decent. Of TV quality. Rollins took a deadly-looking DDT to the outside during the heat spot that, given the duration of the match itself, dragged on for too long. In an attempt to further the tension, the camera cut to Strowman looking steadily more annoyed on the apron, but it was all quite apathetic. It never felt like Strowman was desperate to retain the Tag Team Championship (ironically, his theatrics before the hot tag felt too desperate), likely because he wasn't. It was in storylines a means of just getting to the main event, the natural byproduct of which was a crowd right there with him.

The expected f*ckery happened, but it didn't erupt in a turn or a beat-down or anything of real intrigue to really heat up the main event, which felt lacking as a result. There was no real emotional hinge to it - both Strowman and Rollins blamed each other as if only mildly inconvenienced - and that was that.

A bit of a subversion of a trope, but nothing even remotely effective.

Star Rating: **1/2
