2. The House Of Black Vs. The Acclaimed - World Trios Title Match

he Acclaimed won the Trios titles in a match that was more nice than it was great.

Time and time again, the House of Black isolated members of the Acclaimed. This is a signature sequence of theirs - it portrays them as expert strategists who can manipulate matches to their liking - but they possibly leaned on it too much here to work around the fact that Daddy Ass can't exactly work the complex all-action in-house genre style. As a result, the match was a bit stilted at times, but it didn't matter.

When the comebacks happened, the live crowd ate everything up. Eventually.

In truth, these two teams haven't worked a classic match in this series, and they should have inserted a retirement stipulation to maximise the emotional heft that the match did have going for it. That's what the story was about!

Again, it didn't matter.

The pop for the win was enormous, and Tony Khan has solved the selection headache he endured last year even FTR and the Acclaimed got red-hot in parallel.

Star Rating: ★★★
