7. FTR Vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal - World Tag Team Title Match

FTR Vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal while fantastic wasn't the best match I've seen live, but it was very likely the most fun.

Watching Planet Jarrett frantically thumb through the carny bullsh*t playbook in real time was such an unbelievable blast. I covered Double Or Nothing live from Las Vegas. After some exquisite southern tag sequences, cardiovascular feats the likes of which Jeff Jarrett should be commended for pulling off, I turned to Michael Hamflett and said "This is great: and we haven't even got to the bullsh*t yet!"

And then the glorious bullsh*t happened, and it was so unbelievably effective. A respectful crowd lost their collective minds when Jeff inadvertently hit guest ref Mark Briscoe with the guitar, which eventually summoned Aubrey Edwards. Sonjay Dutt, with the most smug and obnoxious facial expression, blocked her off. Then, when she budged past him, Karen Jarrett smashed her with the balsa wood. This was incredible. A true transgression. With this, and her skin-crawling facials throughout, Las Vegas was not ready for Karen Jarrett. This wild story beat informed Jeff's unreal Stroke near-fall. Aubrey was the one who had prevented him from capturing gold twice before. Her being removed from the fray made it seem like Jeff had finally cleared the last hurdle.

Jeff ate sh*t in the end and took a slap from Mark, but before the happy ending, this was an excellent version of two matches: an improbably straightforward southern tag affair and subsequently the most note-perfect excessive TNA special.

Star Rating: ★★★★¼
