11 Talented Wrestlers Who Felt Forced To Quit WWE

8. Randy Savage

Randy Savage wanted to wrestle, but Vince McMahon wanted him as an announcer. It was an unworkable situation for the long haul. The boss was in the midst of his New Generation movement, and felt that Savage was past his prime and wanted to focus on younger talent. It was a bit of an odd call, as the Macho Man was 42 at the time (younger than current roster members HHH, Big Show, Goldust, Kane, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley), and could still go in the ring, just not quite like he could before. Savage pitched the idea of a long-term program with Shawn Michaels that would put over the Heartbreak Kid in the end, but it never went down. Seeing no other choice, the Macho Man decided to take Ted Turner€™s money and join his mortal friend/mortal enemy Hulk Hogan in WCW. It probably worked out well for Macho, as he had a lighter schedule, made a lot of money and captured the WCW Heavyweight Title on four occasions. You can€™t blame the man for wanting to follow his passion if his old employer didn€™t want him in that role anymore. After being forced out of the WWF, something forced him from ever coming back into the company (feel free to look that rumor up!). He never returned before he passed away in 2011.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
