8. Dolph Ziggler Must Defeat Bobby Roode

Yes, you read that correctly. It is absolutely imperative that Dolph Ziggler beats Bobby Roode on Sunday night, for the good of both men and the show that they compete on. This might seem like the worst idea possible, but hear me out.

Dolph Ziggler is currently less important than he ever has been on the main roster. His recent gimmick of impersonating entrances is the dirt-worst, and The Showoff seems to be winding down the clock to the end of his contract and the chance of pastures new. If he is leaving, then he should lose. If he isn’t, he needs to find some credibility.

Bobby Roode isn’t your usual debuting superstar. He is an established name with a song that is going to get him over whatever the weather. He can lose, and he will be absolutely fine. The long term money with Roode is with him as a heel anyway.

Ziggler needs this win a whole lot more than Roode, and by awarding the W to Ziggler you potentially set up a feud that can truly establish both men once again. This has all been regrettable joviality so far - both men are capable of an intensity that could bring some tension back to SmackDown Live. If Ziggler loses then absolutely nothing is gained. Dolph Ziggler must win on Sunday night.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
