11 Things We Learned From Legends With JBL With Booker T (Part 1)
1. Going Solo
After capturing the WCW Tag Team Titles a record 11 times, Booker knew it was time to fly solo, and credits his brother Stevie Ray for allowing that to happen. The bigger brother took a step back so that Book could take a step forward, and that's when Booker became the five-time WCW Champion.
Booker always wanted to be a singles wrestler, something that his brother was aware of. Booker also always wanted to be bigger than his big brother, but he knew that wasn't going to happen no matter how many weights he lifted, so he began to focus on the performance and on perfecting his own style.
The Spinaroonie master finishes the episode by saying that he's living his brother's dream as we get a teaser for next week's episode.
Overall, this was very, very good. JBL is a great host for these things and it helps that he's been such good friends with Booker for so long. Although his past trials and tribulations are public knowledge thanks to his recent autobiography, it's still pretty incredible hearing Booker speak so openly about them. He really did have to overcome a hell of a lot to get where he is today.
