11 Things We Learned From Ultimate Warrior's Wife On Talk Is Jericho
3. The Last Weekend Of His Life
Jericho comments on how the final weekend of Warrior's life couldn't have possibly been scripted any better and asks Dana to share details from that fateful weekend. She points out how it almost feels like Warrior was prophesizing with a lot of the things he was saying. She says the family was so excited about the entire event, but at the time she was nervous to have her children in the public eye because they'd always lived a private life. She remarks that once Warrior made the decision to do it he was excited to accept the award and have Linda induct him and it was a feeling that they were on the precipice of something new and wonderful. Dana talks about how Warrior was a huge fan of a lot of the current stars, and the fact that so many of them, like Daniel Bryan and Cody Rhodes, took the time to come up to him and share their appreciation of him meant the world to him. She also adds that Sgt. Slaughter came up to Warrior and handed him a potato, which they all got a kick out of. The day that Warrior passed, he spent time in the airport signing autographs and taking pictures with every fan who asked, and when they were called to board their plane the group in their terminal gave him a loud ovation. At this point she breaks into tears at what a bittersweet memory that is. "When he died, he didn't crumble. He died like a warrior."
