11 Things We Learned From WWE 24: Kofi Kingston

9. His Tough Enough Application

In 2001, WWE launched Tough Enough, a reality show which would give regular joes the chance to earn a dream contract with the company. The moment Kofi saw the programme, he knew his opportunity had come.

The 20-year-old filmed a series of vignettes under the utterly generic name 'JT Fury', showcasing both his athletic prowess and passionate promos - VTs Kofi described in the documentary as "just... awful". They were oddly prescient however: at one point, the young Kingston promised he'd be "one of the best high-flyers" the organisation had ever seen.

Despite his best endeavours, the tapes were ultimately rejected, but the knockback obviously didn't mark the end of Kingston's dreams.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
