11 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Hulk Hogan
9. That He Has Done Anything TNA Related (Or Anything Involving Wrestling Since He Last Left WWE)
If you watch WWE, there's a god chance that you have no idea what TNA is, because they do the smart thing by never mentioning it. They don't consider TNA to be their competitors, and nor should they, considering the dearth in quality. TNA was also the place where Hulk Hogan worked for about four years starting in late 2009 until late 2013. So, why did he work there? Because TNA President Dixie Carter paid him millions (rumor was he was making $2.5 million per year there) and he didn't even help the company. Along with Eric Bischoff, Hogan suggested they move to Monday nights - advice they heeded in 2010, before inevitably getting their asses kicked by WWE, so they went crawling back to Thursday nights. When Hogan first got there, he would say things about how TNA was going to beat Raw in the ratings and grow as a company: it was all really silly. Hogan had a major role in the company behind the scenes as part of the creative team with enough protection that if anything stupid happened he could always blame somebody else. And somewhat inevitably, after the TNA experiment failed, Hogan probably returned to burying the company to people in WWE because that's just what Hogan does.
