11 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania

11. Chris Jericho Gave The Middle Finger To Shawn Michaels At WrestleMania 19

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x65xlq_shawn-michaels-vs-chris-jericho-wre_sport When Shawn Michaels entered the ring for his epic match with Chris Jericho, it was a huge celebration because it was his first WrestleMania match in five years. The return of Michaels received a lot of fanfare because we didn't know if he would ever wrestle at a WrestleMania again. The moment that happened that WWE doesn't want us to remember was when Michaels was walking down to the ring for the match. He was playing to the fans as they cheered him on while Jericho was in the ring with a look of disgust on his face. It was Jericho's actions while he was standing on the ropes that really must have angered somebody because they have completely erased it from any DVD or WWE Network versions of the show. Jericho stood on a turnbuckle facing Michaels and flashed a middle finger at him. It was removed from copies of the show, but the commentary of the announce team comprised of Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler did mention the incident that you can watch in the video above at the 6:20 mark. Ross: "I saw it. A classless act by Jericho." Lawler: "I wasn't bringing that to your attention. I wanted to point out the look of jealousy on the face of the King of the World over there." This was 2003. WWE wasn't a PG company at the time and didn't become one until 2008. It seems weird that they would edit out something like a middle finger from a heel like Jericho. It's just a guy being jealous and having a genuine reaction as a character. They had a top guy like Steve Austin doing it on a fairly regular basis for years before this. It may be gone now, but it's not something we've forgotten.
