If anyone had the Punjabi Prison down as the one gimmick match to make a return in 2017, allow me to forward my Pools coupon. Pick up a few lottery tickets for me, while you're at it.

As everybody knows, The Great Khali invented the concept, a brutal lattice of bamboo (or a veritable panda paradise), and was on hand at Battleground to bask in his creation. Except those with sharp memories will recall that he didn't actually wrestle in its first airing, meaning he was nothing more than an innovative arcitecht for the justice system.

The Great American Bash 2006 was a bit of a calamity, with three stars failing to show due to elevated liver enzymes. Khali was amongst them, so was replaced with the next 'best' thing, Big Show. With no explanation given whatsoever.

Suppose it was hard to tell what was happening inside the prison anyway; perhaps WWE thought they'd get away with it?

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
