11 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Great Khali

4. The 'Over The Top Challenge' Botch

There is so much value to be drawn from just four minutes of footage. A regulation match between Edge and the Great Khali was restarted by the Anonymous Raw GM after the latter bone-headedly got himself counted out, only this time an over-the-top rule was added because the transit of Venus was occurring, or some other such arbitrary reason.

So far, so good. Except clearly Khali wasn't paying attention, as he promptly stepped over the rope, eliminating himself. Michael Cole, like the prize simpleton that he is, immediately highlighted the error, cackling moronically at the Indian's expense. It was left to Jerry Lawler to do his job properly, quickly devising an excuse as to why the match hadn't ended, and why, actually, the whole thing wasn't a total farce.

A few moments later, Edge yanked Khali's boot from the outside, causing the big lad to tumble out the ring, this time, 'officially'.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
