9. Rosa Was A Developmental Champion

Rosa Mendes may well go down in history as one of the worst in-ring performers of the modern era, so it will come as a huge surprise to certain sections of the fanbase to find out that she was actually a two-time champion in developmental. You read that right; the woman who couldn't win a match on the main roster was considered the number one female at a time in WWE's developmental system.

Rosa Mendes (then billed as Roucka) won both the OVW Women's Championship and the Queen of FCW title. The Femme Fatale (as generic a nickname as you're going to get) won the former by outlasting five competitors (among them Serena and previous champion ODB) in a six-pack challenge, holding the title for an impressive 154 days before dropping it to her great rival Katie Lea.

There were only six Queen's of FCW in the title's short history, and Rosa finds herself in some impressive company as a result. AJ Lee was the performer Mendes deposed as Queen, bringing Lee's record run to an end. Mendes held the title for 77 days before dropping it to Lithuanian superwoman and the performer with the greatest entrance music in wrestling history, Aksana.

Achieving all of this without a Wikipedia-recognised finishing move is impressive, to say the least.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
