Rosa Mendes has never made any secret of her biggest influence in the professional wrestling world, and in truth, there aren't many better individuals one could choose for such a position. Mendes cites Trish Stratus as her biggest pro wrestling idol, but has stated in the past that she was a fan of Stratus before the WWE Hall of Famer ever laced up a pair of boots.

In an interview with Channel Guide Magazine Mendes stated: "I loved Trish Stratus and she has always been an idol of mine. I used to read a lot of fitness magazines, and before she even became a wrestler, I was following her career." Rosa never got a chance to work with her idol, but those 11 years may well have never happened if it wasn't for the influence of Stratus.

In an interview with WWE.com during the 2006 Diva Search Mendes was asked who her favourite current Diva or Superstar was and the Czech-Canadian immediately replied "Trish Stratus all the way. I remember her first interview on RAW and she looked so professional. Then I saw her in the ring and I thought "wow, that's so wicked that she can change from this professional model to this tough-ass, cool b*ch"."

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
