11 Things You Didn't Know About WWE Money In The Bank

1. A Familiar Theme

Money in the Bank is the only WWE pay-per-view that has its own special theme, a money-centric song that accompanies the show every year. The Jim Johnston-produced song has been a staple of the show since the second edition of the pay-per-view, helping it stand out further in a world of faceless events and conveyer belt shows. All that changed in 2019, with a shiny new theme produced for the show.

The old song itself wasn’t entirely unique to the Money in the Bank pay-per-view. Long before the ladder match became the vehicle for an entire show, the ‘Money, Money, Money’ theme song was used by none other than the 45th president of the United States himself, Donald Trump. A depressingly apt theme song for a man whose entire existence is predicated by wealth and its accumulation.

Dwelling on the existence of Donald Trump isn’t good for anyone’s health, so attention turns to this year’s edition of Money in the Bank. The 2020 version of the show will feature a slightly different match, as superstars attempt to quite literally climb the corporate ladder and grab the brass ring, which comes in briefcase form. Nobody knows what form this is going to take, but it might actually breathe new life into the tired concept.

It’ll be memorable, that’s for sure.
