Jeff Hardy wasn't in the best of places coming into TNA's 2011 Victory Road PPV, and things would go from bad to worse for the enigmatic star on the night itself.

Soon after making his way to the ring, it became clear that Hardy was intoxicated, forcing Eric Bischoff to intervene and attempt to salvage the tense situation in the ring with the then-TNA World Champion Sting who Hardy was set to throw down with.

After Bischoff had seemingly got the message across to Sting, and shared some inaudible words with Hardy, 'The Charismatic Enigma' was forcefully pinned by 'The Icon' after a Scorpion Death Drop less than two minutes into the bout. Sting was obviously annoyed at the uncomfortable turn of events, but he exuded a feeling of disappointment more than anything once the dust had settled. When fans proclaimed that this was "bullsh*t!", 'Stinger' simply replied with "I agree."

Far from holding this unenviable situation against the troubled star, though, Sting would later admit that he still loves and respects Hardy, wishing him the best for the future.
