11 Two-Sport Themed WWE Superstars

2. Ken Shamrock

Much like Steve Blackman, Ken Shamrock actually started out in professional wrestling (though he did play other sports in college, and was even offered an NFL tryout, which he turned down), venturing to the Japanese organization Fujiwara Gumi. A legitimate match at the Tokyo Dome which Shamrock won in 45 seconds led him to second guess the notion he'd been taught, that no one would pay to see a real match. Along with Masakatsu Funaki and Minoru Suzuki, the trio pursued legitimate combat sports, which led Shamrock to the Ultimate Fighting Championship and numerous titles, including becoming the inaugural UFC Superfight Champion. In 1997, his UFC fame led Shamrock to the World Wrestling Federation, where he first appeared to referee Bret "The Hitman" Hart and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a special submission match at WrestleMania 13 that would change the course of both men's careers forever. Shamrock himself would then go on to become the 1998 King of the Ring, Intercontinental Champion, and a Tag Team Champion before returning to UFC.
