7. No One Is A Star
When it comes to actual true superstars, WWE has two tiers: John Cena and a handful of guys who rarely show up on their programming. Every other person is clearly a step below them on the totem pole. Many people speculate that the reason for this is that Vince McMahon has a fear of creating the next Rock, someone who outgrows the WWE and becomes a bigger star without them, and this is why no one is allowed to get too over. As stupid as that may sound, there's some pretty damning evidence to support the theory. Just take a look at Daniel Bryan. In 2014 he was arguably as hot as anyone since the heydays of Rock and Steve Austin, and yet they failed to capitalize on that popularity, especially when ignoring various incidents that could have brought them mainstream publicity. Dean Ambrose is another clear example. He's one of the most over guys on the roster, but he's relegated to playing Roman Reigns' wacky sidekick. It's baffling. The biggest talking point from WrestleMania 31 was The Rock and Ronda Rousey, neither of whom are even WWE employees! The booking certainly doesn't help. Everyone trades wins and losses, guys fight each other a thousand times before moving on to another program and everyone comes out the worse for wear.
