Hikaru Shida vs. Serena Deeb, without a word of hyperbole, has the potential to be the best non-stipulation match in AEW women's division history. Great matches are ultimately what will get this division over with live crowds and as a ratings draw, and theirs promises to be fluid, heated, and well-constructed on next week's anniversary episode of Dynamite.
It was set up by a promo segment that saw Shida put Deeb over as "the most technical wrestler in the world," as she chases her 50th AEW win. Deeb, meanwhile, is blasting back from injury, bringing the salty veteran character she exhibited in recent self-produced promos to national television.
