11 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Jan 29)

1. Darby Allin Is Electric

This week's Inner Circle trios match played out in similar fashion to last week. In fact, they even repeated the Jurassic Express match's opening sequence, with Chris Jericho biting off more than he could chew as he stood across from a former opponent. Last time, it was Jungle Boy who sent him scampering to the safety of his corner; this time, it was Darby Allin, whose performance was the best thing on the entire show.

The extent to which Allin has caught on with the AEW fanbase is both surprising and encouraging. This guy is connecting in a major way. He ignites audiences with his kinetic offense, speaks to younger fans with his alt. aesthetic, and is already inspiring people to come to the shows in his makeup. It helps that he keeps delivering ballistic performances like that which he unleashed on the Inner Circle (highlighted by a Coffin Drop onto Jake Hager), too.

The babyfaces lost without Allin taking the pinfall. Isiah Kassidy scored a great nearfall on Jericho but was quickly sent to the shadow realm via Judas Effect, giving the Inner Circle their second consecutive win. They tried to compound this by attacking the faces after the bell. Jon Moxley, though... he said "no," rushed down with a baseball bat, and cleared the ring, closing the night.
