As if anything else could occupy this week's top spot.

Though not quite as fantastic as it could've been on a big pay-per-view stage, AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan was, indeed, fantastic. How could it not be? These are two of the absolute best wrestlers in the world, and they did their thing before an adoring audience, in a bout entirely bereft of ham-fisted sports entertainment nonsense. It was pure wrestling clash designed to pop everyone, and comfortably the most enthralling weekly TV clash SmackDown has delivered all year.

It was a classic tale of timeless pro-wrestling psychology, as both men went after different limbs. Bryan focused his assaults on AJ's arm, perhaps trying to nullify the Phenomenal Forearm and make him vulnerable to the Yes! Lock's own limb-trap, while AJ attacked the knee. Both came into play several times throughout the bout, but one was more effective than the other.

Styles' surgical precision paid off in the end, as he seized Daniel in a Calf Crusher on the leg he'd just spent 22 minutes destroying. Bryan had no choice but to tap. An excellent finish, as the focused assault means Daniel loses no heat or credibility by submitting.

The post-match saw the duo kiss and make up, before Samoa Joe sprung and choke the champ out. A great way to cap an awesome match, but here's hoping we haven't seen the last of Styles and Bryan between the ropes.
