7. MJF's Campaign Update

A lower-key affair than last week's State of the Industry Address it may have been, but MJF's campaign update was still an entertainment segment that sowed seeds for later in the evening.

MJF bullied a couple of his lackeys (including regular Dark jobber Lee Johnson), chastised them for hanging his poster squint, and revealed polls showing his 100% approval rating vs. Dictator Jon's -88%. The campaign wasn't slowing down, he said. He wouldn't do that until the belt was around his waist because "we deserve better," and if Darby Allin beat Moxley that night, he wouldn't have been disappointed.

"The 125lb emo kid? Yeah, it'd suck to have to wrestle him for the World Title." Wink.

Typically strong stuff from one of the best heel talkers in the business, with the Darby comment setting him up for what transpired in the main event.
