11 Ups & 2 Downs From NJPW King Of Pro-Wrestling 2018

2. White Works His Malignant Magic

Just when it looked like 'The Rainmaker' finally had his hands on former manager Gedo, the Bullet Club OGs flipped the script.

Gedo's long-time tag team partner, Jado, prevented Okada from enacted too much vengeance on 'The Rain Taker,' leading to the Firing Squad swaggering out from the back. They ordered Okada to choose between the two CHAOS sides, but Tama Tonga struck with a Gun Stun as he hit the ropes.

What followed was absolutely shocking. Bullet Club stood aside, allowing 'Switchblade' Jay White back inside. Laying Okada out with a Blade Runner, he matched the Firing Squad's Too Sweet, and now, it looks like New Japan's two biggest offshoots are in cahoots.

There'll come a day when White's manipulations return to haunt him, but he's in complete control at the moment. This is a man who once declined Kenny Omega's invitation to join Bullet Club. Now, he's publicly supporting a group of wrestlers openly at war with 'The Cleaner.' It's exactly the kind of long-term storytelling that sets NJPW aside from anywhere else, and we can't wait to see how it pans out.
