With the pro wrestling world continuing to pay tribute to Benjamin 'PAC' Satterley, The Rock has responded to the suggestion that people in WWE were "very surprised" that his video tribute to PAC featured positive comments about AEW.

Rocky posted a video to Instagram last week, sending his condolences to the Satterley family, to his colleagues in WWE, to AEW President Tony Khan, to the wider AEW company, and said AEW is "growing into this phenomenal wrestling company".

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that people in WWE were "very surprised" at Rock's wording in regards to AEW, and that the wording was specifically "brought up" to Meltzer by some within WWE, particularly with Dwayne Johnson being on the TKO Board of Directors.

Responding to an Instagram post questioning Meltzer's comments on this matter, The Rock said:

"you’re right brother, and humanity matters to me. I was born into this business and I’ve seen it all, but when one of our own passes away, I don’t care nor do I see “our competition”, I care about the wrestlers and how it affects them. I’ve been there. To me, humanity matters most."

PAC tragically passed away on September 27th at the age of just 40. In addition to the various tributes that came out in the immediate aftermath of that tragedy, last week's Dynamite paid a brilliant, emotional, poignant, and utterly heartbreaking tribute to someone who helped inspire and influence so many others of his own generation and beyond.
