11 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 10)

1. One Vs. All

In order to determine the challengers for The North's World Tag Team Championships at Hard To Kill on 12 January, a four way tag team match was set up known as the Tag Team Open, featuring Reno Scum, Dave and Jake Crist of oVe, Dez and Wentz of The Rascalz, and the team of Rich Swann and Willie Mack. There was no chance this match would flop, right? Correct.

Not only did the match excel, but it provided yet another show-stealing performance from Swann, following on from his impressive Elimination Challenge showing from a few weeks ago. After he dumped Dave Crist over the ropes on to everyone else at ringside, including Swann's own partner, Willie Mack was seen clutching his knee. Next thing we know, he's been deemed medically unfit to finish the match.

As a result, the former X Division Champion showed everyone once again why he's been the centre of attention since the Elimination Challenge. It was Swann vs. the world, so it was an even more impressive moment when he came out victorious over the three teams thanks to a quick rollup. This rise of Rich Swann may not be leading to anything big, it may simply be going towards he and Willie Mack capturing the titles from Ethan Page and Josh Alexander next month.

On the other hand though, he undoubtedly needs to be part of the World Championship scene when he's finished with the tag title scene, as long as the hype is still there of course. We can only hope the momentum stays behind Rich Swann for long enough.
