1. Slow Motion Spectacle

Rob Van Dam vs. Rhino with Tommy Dreamer as the special guest referee was the opening match to this week's episode of Impact, an episode that originally aired on 10 December 2019. It was never going to be anything special, but what actually went down was beyond abysmal.

Despite not being an especially slow-paced match, seeing as RVD used a wide array of his flips, the majority of the moves here were all performed in slow motion. No matter if it was a powerbomb from 'The War Machine' or a dropkick from 'The Whole F'N Show', the manoeuvres didn't look as great as they could've. Add in the fact that Dreamer lumbered around the ring and wasn't actually wearing the traditional striped shirt even though he was the designated official, and you had a fairly difficult match to sit through.

RVD eventually picked up the win with a beautiful Five Star Frog Splash, going on to ambush Tommy Dreamer post-match for no real reason. Was that just a superkick for the sake of dishing one out, or was it to set up a new rivalry between those two? Please, let it be that first option. RVD vs. Rhino was enough, now leave the ECW callbacks alone.
