11 Ups & 4 Downs For Impact Wrestling In 2020 (So Far)

Sort of as a continuation from the previous point, Impact's overuse of these older lads (and just their booking in general in total honesty) has often led to these lesser-known names being pushed further and further down the card. If you're a regular reader of these columns, then you'll be well acquainted with the fury towards Rohit Raju's constant failures.

'The Desi Hitman' split himself from Gama Singh and the other members of his Desi Hit Squad faction during the no crowd era, which very well could have been the first step in the right direction for the artist formerly known as Hakim Zane. Despite that, Raju still hasn't been able to properly get his singles career on track, often being used to fill the numbers in multi-man matches or to lose to the likes of Rhino, for heaven's sake. His only win in recent months, which came over former Naturals member Chase Stevens, was followed by a Gore from 'The War Machine' for no reason at all. Sighs all around.

As well as Rohit, the likes of Reno Scum and The Deaners haven't really been able to have successful careers in Impact's doubles division. Yes, they've both had moments here and there that have hinted towards more of a push for them - Adam Thornstowe and Luster The Legend being aligned with Ace Austin briefly, Cody Deaner being a comedy genius with his Kwaranteen skits, and Cousin Jake being allowed to show how good of a wrestler he truly is. We've yet to see what happens to The Deaners seeing as they've only just reunited and forged an apparent alliance with X Division Champion Willie Mack, but as for Reno Scum, they're already losing again.

This needs to end. Impact have a tremendously talented roster. They just need to book them properly, and create these stars.
