Like Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey, AJ Styles vs. Brock Lesnar II would have been awesome, but in this case, the replacement is arguably more enticing than the original.

Is a post-comeback Bryan on the same level as 'The Phenomenal One' in 2018? Probably not, but Daniel has never faced 'The Beast Incarnate.' Ever. This gives the new Universal vs. WWE Champion bout a unique layer of intrigue, though it is very, very weird that we're about to see Bryan vs. Lesnar go down as a heel vs. heel clash. Imagine trying to explain that to your average WWE fan a couple of months ago...

Last night's events have given us an absolute gift of a bout, and Bryan finally has the clash he pined for at WrestleMania 31. A screwy finish is likely, as AJ will be full of venom after Daniel's turn, but let's just hope WWE give the duo plenty of time to work before pulling that trigger. They deserve it, and it's about time Brock had a blockbuster 2018 singles match...
