11 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (May 12)
Downs...
5. Change It Up
This is an extremely minor Down, but the way it was presented prevents it from being an Up.
Kiera Hogan being established as a proper name in Impact rather than her just being Madison Rayne's on-again, off-again pal is a positive. She can hold her own in the ring when given the proper chance to show it, and she's got a decent amount of attitude to go with it, which is always very much needed when you're surrounded by an immensely talented pool of athletes. However, what makes it a negative is the fact that it was basically the exact same video that was shown last time.
'The Hottest Flame' didn't really say anything different, aside from her new moniker. Even the footage that was used was the exact same we saw in her first vignette - the same shot of her in the car, the same shot of her next to the Olympic rings, the whole lot. Now, obviously given the current circumstances, this sort of thing could be swept under the carpet, but Kiera surely could've recorded a voiceover from home and had footage of her in action playing underneath. Besides, seeing her wrestling makes her look like a far better wrestler than just her saying what her plans are going forward.
