11 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (July 30)

Downs...

5. The Trouble With Aleister

Aleister Black was back in his darkened room last night, claiming he was in a self-imposed prison, seemingly desperate for someone who isn't "Mr. Cesaro" to pick a fight for him next.

Regularly column readers know this writer's thoughts on these segments. The problem with Black, in this role, is that he says a little with a lot when it should be the other way around. In NXT, his character was at its strongest when he barely opened his mouth. This is the opposite.

He's an excellent performer, so it's a shame that WWE continue to lumber Black with such ineffective material.
