11 Ups & 6 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Nov 24)

1. The Callihan Death Machine

In a callback to their original rivalry, Sami Callihan obliterated the face of Eddie Edwards with his trusty baseball bat.

This was beautiful, in a non-sociopathic way.

After failing to lift the World Championship from Rich Swann, Ken Shamrock laid out referee Brandon Tolle, before he was re-joined by Sami Callihan. Together, the pair decimated Swann, and attempted to smash his face in, until Eddie Edwards made the save. Of course, the numbers advantage laid in favour of The World's Most Dangerous Tag Team, and thus Eddie found himself tangled to the ropes, and eventually, with a bloodied face.

While this wasn't quite as vicious as the original baseball bat incident, it remains a brutal moment to sit and watch. We needed this reminder that Sami Callihan isn't to be messed with. After he and Shamrock unsuccessfully challenged for the World Tag Team Championships, he moved onto poking fun at, of all people, Rob Van Dam and Katie Forbes. Until reuniting with Shamrock in the mystery assault of Eddie Edwards prior to Bound For Glory, Callihan was more or less a changed man compared to the start of 2020.

Keep in mind that the previous bat encounter is what set Eddie Edwards off to become the character he is today, a character that fits into Impact Wrestling perfectly. If this can have a similar effect to that, then we can rejoice in what's to follow between the two sides.
