11 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jun 18)

1. Kevin & Sami Are Lonesome Losers

It's a good job that Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are such wildly entertaining performers, because they're being buried on WWE television at the moment.

Zayn hasn't scored a victory since the 13 May episode of SmackDown. His record since returning on the Raw after WrestleMania? 1-9. Owens, meanwhile, is 2-6 within the same timeframe, with his last victory coming via DQ when he faced Seth Rollins on 10 June.

Complaining about popular performers taking L's can be tedious, but Zayn and Owens' losing habit is becoming a big problem. Each is an effective stooge and neither should be presented as some kind of dominant winning machine. Still, those records are abysmal, and it's now borderline impossible to receive them as any kind of threat - particularly when they're dropping consecutive 0-2 losses in 2-out-of-3 falls matches.

Their chemistry, wit, and craic means Zayn and Owens will always craft entertaining from the grimmest situations, though we definitely need to see more from them going forward. Time for them to right their course.
