11 Wrestlers Who Waited The Longest To Win A World Title
4. Christian (3864 Days)
Our first entrant who waited more than a decade to win his maiden world title is Christian, who saw a total of 3864 days pass between his TV debut at the Breakdown: In Your House show of September 1998 and his first world championship victory. And even then, that first world championship was the ECW world title—hardly the most prestigious in the company.
Like so many before him, Christian followed the tried-and-trusted method of tag team success followed by a singles run which eventually led to world title glory. However, for Christian there was an additional step along the way: a three-year detour via TNA, where he was able to establish himself as a main event player.
With that in mind, it could be argued that, much like the earlier case of RVD, we should start counting Christian’s wait for a world title from the date at which he’d later return to the company.
However, unlike RVD earlier in this list, Christian’s first run was no one-off. In fact, at over seven years, it was the longer of his two spells with the company, and so in this case it makes sense to roll with that initial debut from 1998.
