1. Lita Vs. Trish Stratus At WrestleMania 21 For The Women's Championship
Coming in at number-one on our list is none other than Lita Vs. Trish Stratus at WrestleMania 21 for the WWE Women's Championship. When it comes to the Divas, Trish Stratus and Lita are the female equivalent to The Rock and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. The two Hall of Famers have inspired men and women alike, and when looking at their respective careers, it's so obvious that neither one would have been as successful without the other intertwined into their path. That's what makes it all the more disheartening to realize they never got to face off, one-on-one, at WrestleMania for the Women's Title. At the end of 2004, Lita rebounded from a storyline miscarriage to exact revenge on on-again/off-again bestie Trish Stratus, winning her long-awaited second Women's Championship in the main event of RAW. At New Year's Revolution, in 2005, Lita's title reign came to an end when she was pinned by Trish. Many assumed Lita's quick release of the title to Trish was the beginning of the build-up to a match between the two at WrestleMania 21, but then news broke out that Lita had legitimately torn her ACL and there was no way she was going to be able to compete on the Biggest Stage of Them All. What we ended up getting, instead, was Trish defending her title against the green-as-fertilizer Christy Hemme, with Lita in Christy's corner. Seeing how well Lita and Trish had worked together - on their own - in the main event and then looking at how hard they fought during Trish's retirement match at Unforgiven 2006 proves that, when it's the big time, these two Divas are willing to pull out all the stops no matter what. It's unfortunate to think that, because of an untimely injury, we missed out on seeing one of the greatest Divas Matches in 'Mania history. However, as Stephanie McMahon said when inducting Trish into the Hall of Fame, "Trish is the first Diva to compete in five WrestleMania matches ... and according to Trish, she might not be done yet." Age has been more than kind to both ladies and Lita demonstrated at the RAW 1,000th Episode that she hasn't missed a step in the ring. Could we eventually see these two give us the match that should have been? Only time will tell.
