After splitting from John Morrison in the spring of 2009, The Miz stood on his own two feet as a verbally-gifted villain, and got into the best shape of his career in time to begin a long reign as United States champion that fall. From October 5, 2009 to September 19, 2010, save for a one-month stretch in May and June, Miz reigned as a prominently-featured US Champion. Miz also had the Money in the Bank briefcase. When he dropped the US belt to Daniel Bryan in September, it was only a matter of time before Miz took over Raw as a domineering heel with substance. Sure enough, Miz cashed in the night after Survivor Series, taking out Randy Orton, making one particular young female fan very miserable in the process. Miz's career since hasn't equaled the magic he wielded during this stretch, a shame given his smooth confidence as a punchable heel.
