11 WWE WrestleMania Headliners Who Didn't Make The Following SummerSlam

9. Bam Bam Bigelow - WrestleMania XI

WrestleMania XI was headlined by NFL linebacker Lawrence Taylor taking on Bam Bam Bigelow, in a match that defied all expectations to be actually not that bad. Whilst the vast majority of credit should go to Bam Bam, Taylor more than held his own in what is probably the most impressive in-ring performance by a non-wrestler in memory.

Taylor obviously didn't wrestle at SummerSlam in 1995, but it is surprising to note that Bam Bam didn't make it to the 'Biggest Party of the Summer' either. Bigelow turned face after the WrestleMania defeat, breaking ties with Ted DiBiase and his Million Dollar Corporation and feuding with its members throughout the year.

Bam Bam didn't make it onto the SummerSlam card, a healthy scratch if you will, and his last match for the company came at Survivor Series that year against Goldust.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
