With Fighting Spirit Unleashed’s announcement of a three-way match for the IWGP title, Kenny Omega’s odds of retaining were thrown into question. Not only did Omega have to fend off his partner Kota Ibushi, but he also had to contend with his rival-turned-friend Cody. Fortunately for the Best Bout Machine, he was able to overcome them both en route to the Wrestle Kingdom main event.

The thirty-five minute match saw all three men come within a breath of capturing the gold, and respect was thrown out the window when the Golden Lovers erupted in a battle of strikes and as Cody employed the use of a chair. The defending champ, however, dispatched of Cody and the weapon before hitting a V-Trigger and One-Winged Angel on Ibushi for the victory.

Despite the heated action, all seemed well for The Elite after as Omega professed his love for Kota, Cody, and The Young Bucks. However, the love-fest was interrupted by Hiroshi Tanahashi who, with briefcase in hand, exchanged words with the champion before departing.

With the Wrestle Kingdom main event now set in place, let us know your thoughts on King of Pro-Wrestling's events and what they mean for the rest of 2018.
