The night after Final Battle, at Philadelphia's famed 2300 Arena, Christopher Daniels stood in the ring to officially say goodbye to Ring of Honor and its fans. He talked about his years with the company, mentioning that he was one-third of ROH’s first-ever main event -- along with Low Ki and Daniel Bryan. Daniels said that the promotion has improved every year since its inception and that it would continue to in 2019.

As the crowd gave him a standing ovation, Daniels' exit was interrupted by ROH’s Chief Operating Officer Joe Koff. He told the Fallen Angel that despite their differences, he was impressed by Daniels willingly sacrificing himself to save Cary Silkin from Bully Ray the night before. He called it “real and heartfelt” and offered him a new contract with the promotion.

The two hugged but the feel-good moment was quickly soured when Shane Taylor attacked Daniels from behind -- piledriving him onto a steel chair. While he will stay with ROH, Daniels will unfortunately have to deal with Taylor moving forward who has touted himself as a “problem solver”, offering his services to anyone willing to cough up the cash. The question then remains, was the attack of Shane's volition or was it at the behest of another who currently hides in the shadows?
