12 Most Famous WWE Matches Ever

11. British Bulldog Vs. Bret Hart - SummerSlam 1992

If you're a British wrestling fan, this match might be number one on your list and I wouldn't blame you for it. For the rest of us, it's still one of those special wrestling matches that took place at the right time in the perfect venue. It was the first and only major WWE PPV that was taped in England. Most fans may not remember, but it was taped a few days before it aired in the United States, Canada and everywhere else. Maybe there will be a major PPV (or Special Event) in England again. Maybe not. We don't know. That's why this one still stands on its own as a famous match. It's also a match that is historic because it was a rare occasion when the last match on PPV was for the Intercontinental Title rather than what we usually see with the WWE Title in the main event slot. It showed just how much faith Vince McMahon had in these guys to put on a classic. You think that would ever happen today? Not a chance. The fact that it was one of the best matches ever certainly helps its cause. Hart has told the story that Bulldog was so tired early on in the match that Hart had to carry him because Bulldog forgot what moves to do at what time. Not sure how true that is because it's a long match, but if it is then it's a credit to both of for being able to pull off a classic under those circumstances.
