12 Greatest Flying Elbows In Wrestling History

3. Shawn Michaels' Picture-Perfect Elbow

The prelude to the Sweet Chin Music, Shawn Michaels' diving elbow was always spot-on. Shawn would leap into the air, immediately beginning his signature flourish by lowering his elbow, as if rehearsing its impact. Then, just as the descent began, HBK would !*$% his elbow back down into position, invariably striking his opponent right in the heart.

The flying elbow was never HBK's finisher, but it was an important part of his arsenal for much of his career. It's been hit very memorably a number of times, perhaps none so indelibly as the time Michaels deployed it from a ladder onto a stuffed-into-a-trash-can Vince McMahon.
