12 Greatest Wrestling Dynasties Of All Time
2. McMahon
No family has had a bigger impact on the professional wrestling industry than the McMahons. Their leadership has transformed the sport to a true global phenomenon, and it started with Vince Sr., whose WWF came to dominate wrestling from their north-eastern base in the ‘50s and ‘60s.
His son, Vince Jr., took the company over in 1982, and embarked upon an ambitious expansion campaign, often to his father’s chagrin. The younger Vince took WWE national through entering the pay-per-view market and stronger integration with mainstream celebrity culture, ushering-in in the industry’s second 'Golden Era,’ driving his competitors out of business, and taking the sport to stunning new heights.
As an onscreen performer, Vince Jr. helped pioneer the "evil boss" character as Mr. McMahon, and eventually brought his children, Shane and Stephanie, into the industry. Both have served as authority figures and occasional wrestlers over the the past few decades, and when Vince eventually steps down, it’s assumed that Stephanie will take the reins alongside her husband, Triple H. For better or worse, this ensures that the wrestling business will remain within the family’s control for decades to come, and that the dynasty shall continue to grow.
