12 Match Star Ratings For AEW Revolution 2022

11. BUY-IN: HOOK Vs. QT Marshall

Jon Moxley
AEW

HOOK rules.

HOOK shows why he rules in the first two seconds of his matches, which rule.

His penetration step was a blur, following which he picked QT Marshall's leg and shoved him to the mat instantly. In a matter of seconds, HOOK got over, again, as an athletic prodigy with a better grasp of his badass character than entire generations of professional wrestlers.

He makes larger opposition look helpless by dominating them on the mat, positions into which they find themselves with an awesome sudden impact, but QT played his part here too. The man is a terrific, vastly underrated bumper. The snap, the flummoxed expression, the distance he travels hurtling himself out of the ring: he's a near-perfect prelim heel.

QT used his experience to outwit HOOK by the ropes and rake his eye, but the pompous ass got trapped with a shoulder-capture suplex when attempting a big boot. He went after the eye again, and again, his being a marvellous d*ckhead allowed HOOK the opening to choke him out with the Red Rum after QT gloated and vaulted over nothing but dead air.

Star Rating: ★★★½
