10. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross Vs. The IIconics - Women's Tag Team Title Match

The IIconics were granted an automatic title rematch in a year in which the automatic rematch clause was dispensed with, which should by rights piss any talent off who wasn't, but whatever.

The IIconics accused Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross of being "Toy Story wannabes" in their pre-match spiel. A modern reference, by WWE standards, this did beg the question "Why is Alexa Bliss dressed up like Buzz Lightyear?"

Perhaps she shared a similar identity crisis to the action figure; Buzz thought himself an actual astronaut, and Bliss probably sympathised, because she was a heel last week, and a quasi-face this week.

The comedy early was broad and dire. Peyton Royce looked reasonably accomplished in exchanges with Nikki Cross, at least until her spinning back kick landed, weakly, nowhere near the intended target. Billie Kay is decent value, in her quest to become a beloved figure in meme circles, but the issue there is that GIFs are mildly amusing for about three seconds, and this six minute match was a six minute match.

More shrieking heat spots than anything else, this was the opposite of Pixar, in that nobody was entertained.

Star Rating: *1/2
