12 Opponents Brock Lesnar Needs To Face

6. Rusev

Since bursting onto the scene last year, Rusev has €œcrushed€ all manner of opponents and has been mighty impressive in doing so. Sure, defeating the likes of Big E and Jack Swagger (seriously, has there been a more repeated match over the last 12 months?!) is one thing, but when the company has a guy beat John Cena then you know there€™s serious plans for him. In fairness, both Rusev and Lana as a package deserve to be on the cusp of the main event €“ they€™ve both portrayed their characters brilliantly and effectively to date. A babyface Lesnar standing up for the USA against the pesky foreign menace could do huge business if handled correctly. Even when he€™s supposedly a €œbad guy€, fans still hugely support Lesnar. As a face, he will be the most popular guy in the company €“ yes, even more so than Daniel Bryan. A recent idea that was thrown out there by Jim Ross was to have Rusev remain unbeaten all the way through to next year€™s Wrestlemania, then have Brock challenge him there. That could be great booking, although you feel as if there€™s a certain Great One awaiting Lesnar at next year€™s Showcase of the Immortals. But after Rusev€™s done with Cena, who€™s next for him? Maybe he could feud with another upper card face for a few months before moving on to Brock - that could certainly make sense for all parties.
